Itzpapalotl

I guess I'm on an Aztec kick right now. Here's another new card, this time of the Aztec Goddess Itzpapalotl, Whose name means 'Obsidian Butterfly':

She's the Goddess of the sacrificial flint knife; She's got some skeletal aspects to Her and She is usually shown with claws. The face (and hand/arm) paint are directly from a depiction of Her in the Codex Borgia.

As usual, I've got prints here and t-shirts here with this design on them, if you're interested.

"Obsidian Butterfly" -- beautiful name! I'm not going to think too much about what the sacrificial knife was used for, though.

hhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHOMG *flappy hands* I was hoping you'd do Itzpapalotl. And she is utterly beautiful, as usual :)

For some reason I've never been able to discern, I have a soft spot for Her, in (spite of) all Her horrifying splendour.(Another of my "soft spot" ladies is Ixtab. Don't know why; She just is.)

Can't express how squeeeeingly delighted I am that you are on such a roll. Truly, truly, TRULY.

Okay, I retrieved some comments from moderation. Guess I never set it up to let me know there were comments waiting for some reason. Sorry about that.

Ixtab? Yiiiiiikes.

I love this one so much. All of your goddesses are wonderfully done.
